MARINE COORDINATOR

Description One of the leading offshore wind farm organisations in Europe requires a Marine Coordinator. This position will be working on one of their offshore projects that is due for installation activities through the course of 2011.

Responsibilities to include:
. Setting up MC office.
. Carry out Marine Coordination Procedures.
. Carrying out marine coordination duties for the project.
oThis will be on a 12-24 hour/day basis with a duty telephone for the out-of-hours response.
. Daily running of the marine coordination Golvslipning Halmstad office. The Marine Coordinator will be the point of contact for the wind farm in response to the project`s emergency situations that occur during the Offshore Construction stage.
. Carrying out audits and suitability surveys of vessels prior to their acceptance and any other marine assignments in agreement with the client.
. Assisting the Construction Manager in relation to daily issues as well as weekly and monthly notices to be issued.
. Assisting the HSE Manager duties through various daily, weekly and monthly reports to be submitted as necessary.
. Site Inductions, management of personnel tracking and liaising with the vessel coordination system.
. Issuing notice to mariners.

It is expected that you have:
. Extensive experience within the Wind Farm industry
. The Consultant must bring his own PC and mobile telephone.
. The Consultant shall bring his/her own PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for offshore works

 

Asset Engineer (Infrastructure)

Supporting design Målare Hässleholm and structure of schemes, you’ll develop optimum solutions to network problems while also identifying
improvements that enable capital and operating efficiencies. You’ll do that using network analysis and computerised
hydraulic models, by enabling a holistic approach to network investment and supporting development and maintenance of
distribution zonal studies. Your role will also include implementing the Distribution and Operating Maintenance Strategy
(DOMS), carrying out network analysis and cost analysis, as well as translating DWSP into asset interventions.

Of degree calibre in a technical or engineering discipline and a member of a relevant engineering institution or working
towards achieving this, you’ll have experience in water network management and operation, modelling techniques and
systems. So you’ll also have knowledge of PAS55 and Asset management practices, design and construction techniques, H&S
and buildability issues. Commercially aware and with an analytical approach to problem solving, you’ll also be a
confident communicator able to negotiate and facilitate skills essential to shaping strategies that meet both the
immediate and long term needs of the business. A flexible approach to working locations is essential.

Technical Sales Manager

The Role:
The Technical Manager’s role is a key position our Firm.  Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be able to promote our products to a range of customers making coatings + inks, fillers + extenders, adhesives + sealants, foundry resins + investment castings and the electronics industries.

The Candidate:
A sound technical background is essential, with a Chemistry degree the ideal qualification.

You will probably have spent the early part of your career in a technical environment where you will have gained the necessary background required.

The position also requires the ability to hold detailed discussions with customers at all levels; it is therefore essential that you have at the very least technical service experience or, better still, you have moved into sales.

Quality Manager / Senior Quality Engineer

The company form part of a materials technology division of Aalberts Industries NV, specialising in the surface and heat treatment processes to the UK manufacturing base. Customers include many well known names in the aerospace, automotive, power generation, white goods, construction and general engineering sectors.

Reporting to the Works Manager you will be a key member of the management team and will work closely with Production, Sales and Customers, in order to enhance and promote a Quality driven agenda across the site.

The successful candidate will need to be able to practically demonstrate that they have the ability to actively drive, and continually promote, a total quality culture across all areas of the plant.

Key responsibilities and duties include -

Responsibility for the realisation of the quality policy and objectives, as agreed with Works and senior management
Dealing with quality orientated issues and problem solving in conjunction with production to ensure defects are kept to a minimum
To continuously improve quality performance through process capability and control systems
To ensure quality and environmental compliance both with the integrated management system and associated procedures as well as agreed objectives
To adapt the Quality System to the market position and to customer requirements

The ideal candidate will be Educated to Degree Standard, or equivalent, you will have extensive experience of controlling systems to the requirements of ISO9001:2008 and TS16949. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Metallurgy and / or Material Science and/or experience of heat treatment. Experience of other industry standards, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing would be a advantage.

The position is a permanent role working on days Monday to Friday.

Supporting the manager of the Design and Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring activities of the team align with the requirements of good engineering practice and assurance processes are adhered to.

- development of harmonised electrical design standards, manuals and procedures for use by the business in the purchase of plant/equipment and project development at all voltage levels. This includes protection and control, SCADA, substation auxiliary systems, network automation and earthing
- completion of protection assessments up to 132kV to determine the most appropriate technical solution for new and reinforced networks as part of the development of schemes prior to approval
- production of protection settings for networks from 11kV to 132kV for all Directorates in accordance with company policies and procedures

You will also be technically astute, with:
- Sound knowledge of the design, operation and management of distribution assets at all voltage levels

- Knowledge of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and PAS 55 procedures relevant to design and assurance activities

Lead Instrument Engineer

Our client, a specialist Process Systems Integrator serving the global Oil and Gas market, is looking for a Lead Instrument Engineer for work on a long-term (2+ years) project in Nigeria.

The company provides a total design and supply capability for integrated process systems, and individual process packages, from front-end engineering design studies, through to detailed design, construction, commissioning and operations.

Responsibilities of the Lead Instrument Engineer will include:
- Managing, reviewing and approving the work of the instrument team
- Preparation of Instrument deliverables as required by assigned projects, including detailed specifications, datasheets, instrument lists, IO schedules, cable schedules, cable block diagrams, termination drawings, hook-up drawings, layout drawings (e.g. instrument, lighting, F&G), cable/ladder layouts, cable routing drawings, bulk MTO?s and material requisitions
- Participation in engineering reviews·Participation in risk Identification/Hazard Analysis and HAZOP
- Technical bid evaluations including resolution of vendor technical clarifications
- Preparation of Company Standards and Procedures
- Attendance at site during construction and commissioning phase (where applicable)
- Provide Instrument Engineering technical support to, and implementing instructions from Lead Instrument Engineer.
- Take ownership of Instrument technical queries (TQs) to ensure satisfactory resolution.
- Liaise with other disciplines in the execution of the work.
- Ensure that all Instrument design changes are captured by the change control process.

Applicants for the Lead Instrument Engineer position shall have the following qualificatons and experience:
- HNC Engineering: Instrumentation / B.Sc. degree in Instrument Engineering or equivalent
- Typically 5 years Instrument Engineering & Design experience in the Oil and Gas industry.

The Building Construction Products, Redovisningskonsult Systems team is chartered to provide intelligent, reliable, cost effective Cab, Electrical and Electronics components and systems to the Backhoe Loader (BHL) Prime Product Group for use in our clients BHL’s across the world.

Responsibilities
Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering support to the product groups for use in current production and future machines. The primary responsibility for the candidate is expected to contribute heavily to current production by supporting manufacturing by providing design solutions to issue resolution.

As a secondary responsibility, the candidate will contribute to every stage of the new product introduction process including; requirements capture, specification, FMEA, design, development testing, validation and certification. The candidate will work with project team leaders, supervisors and peers in a variety of areas including engineering, manufacturing, assembly planning, and purchasing, releasing, engineering change control, scheduling and product field service support. Additionally, the candidate will be working closely with sub-systems teams and systems integrators developing and maintaining machine electrical systems by placing components, routing harnesses and developing / maintaining electrical schematics.As part of the role the candidate will be interfacing with both internal and external suppliers as well as the other departments and potential product groups within BCP Desford. The role may include travel both within and outside the UK to other Caterpillar facilities and customer / supplier sites.

Qualifications
Candidates require an accredited engineering degree in either electrics, electronics or mechatronics. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required in the automotive, construction or similar mobile equipment industry.The role requires a self-starter with strong technical skills and a desire to develop leadership skills. Candidates must have the ability to communicate technical information effectively and professionally with team members and others in the work group, as well employees in other business units, customers and suppliers.Direct experience of designing, developing, troubleshooting and introducing electrical and electronics components and systems in mobile applications is essential. This would include previous experience using Pro/E, specifically for cabling /harnessing. Experience with schematic development, maintenance and the CAT data systems for data management and releasing (EDS, Teamcenter) is also highly desirable.Hands-on practical technical experience and a good appreciation of associated vehicle sub-systems such as hydraulics, engines and transmissions are also strongly desired.

Temporary Works Design Engineer

As the Temporary Works Design Engineer you will provide temporary works solutions and technical support to a number of sites across the South East/West and also have significant input in the tender process.

Description:

Working within the Works Preparation team, your role will include aspects of design co-ordination in design and build tenders, assisting with the development of construction and erection methods with subcontractors and Partners, providing input to permanent works engineering solutions for tenders & supporting the planning process.

You will also be required to provide a temporary works design checking role for sites. As the Successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate previous examples of temporary works design on Civil Engineering projects (£10m+).

Experience with projects with a rail interface would be an advantage. You will also be qualified to HND/Degree Civil Engineering Level

HNC or Equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with multi skilled, instrument and/or electrical apprenticeship in an industrial environment containing hazardous areas;

Ideally Chartered status (or working towards);

3 phase LV distribution systems and installing and maintaining electrical and instrument equipment within gaseous hazardous areas;

Knowledge of working a permit system an advantage;

Successfully managing projects through full project life cycle from conception to delivery;

Excellent IT skills – Proficient in use of Microsoft applications.
