Our experts ensure that gas pipeline networks are constructed, maintained and operated effectively, whilst complying with all relevant legislation. We provide expertise across a wide range of engineering activities including material evaluation and performance, civil and geotechnic design, electrical and instrumentation services, integrity management and audit inspections.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join a growing team.

You will have a proven track record in the following areas:

Electrical power systems and control equipment;

Electrical Engineering policy and legislation in both the UK gas industry and general electrical engineering;

Technical and Management audits;

Specialist Hazardous Area expertise;

Instrumentation and safety instrumented systems design and design appraisals;

Regulation Compliance (DSEAR, ATEX, EAWR, COMAH);

Supervising and liaising with 3rd party contractors as required;

Equipment investigations and inspections;

Preparing, documenting and recording maintenance activities for electrical and instrumentation projects;

Project management up to final acceptance of electrical and instrument projects including bid and costings preparation;

Safe control of operation and safety technical competences;

E&I safety integrity and reliability management in compliance with IEC 61511;

Understanding of and delivery of projects to electrical and construction health and safety regulations.

You will have the following attributes:

HNC or Equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with multi skilled, instrument and/or electrical apprenticeship in an industrial environment containing hazardous areas;

Ideally Chartered status (or working towards);

3 phase LV distribution systems and installing and maintaining electrical and instrument equipment within gaseous hazardous areas;

Knowledge of working a permit system an advantage;

Successfully managing projects through full project life cycle from conception to delivery;

Excellent IT skills – Proficient in use of Microsoft applications.
