The main objective of the role is to improve supplier quality and reliability, leverage supplier capabilities and therefore drive down the cost of manufacturing and test.

Basic Function:

* Support the Operations Quality Team by:

Identification of issues in manufacturing and liaising with relevant Supplier Quality Engineer, ensuring immediate customer protection.

Reporting on Supplier Quality and delivery performance.

Chairing fortnightly review of Product Quality issues and reporting progress for the Monthly Field Report.

Analysis of trends and reporting of Quality Feedback information from printer installations.

Provision of relevant quality information for Monthly Product Quality ReviewActing on feedback on urgent field issues to identify root cause.

Liaising with assembly operatives in China and India to obtain early warning of quality issues.

* Evaluate Warranty Field Returns for suggesting improvements.

* Support Purchasing in the establishment and assessment of alternative suppliers.

* Ensure introduction of new supplier parts is done in a structured and controlled way using PPAP.

* Provide data to Finance on monthly basis for supplier returns outside UKAdditionally you may be required to support other manufacturing improvement projects.

MAIN DUTIES

Reporting to the Operations Quality Manager as part of the Operations Quality team the role involves interaction with personnel at all levels. It includes a large element of analytical and administration work and requires good general quality skills and a structured approach to management and quality improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

You will have a Degree and five years relevant experience in a supplier development, quality or manufacturing environment.You will be flexible, a level thinker and capable of solving wide ranging quality problems. A firm character and the ability to work as part of a team or alone as the situation demands are essential qualities.With a firm understanding of manufacturing quality, you will be driven to improve working methods, ensure reactive resolution and provide clear communication to stakeholders on progress.
